Liz Green was born in Toronto, and set her sights for Los Angeles to continue an acting career. She started creating cocktail lists for the lounges/clubs she worked for, as well as other various venues and restaurants. She started winning mixology awards around the country and became recognized in the industry as a “go to” for creating original recipes for liquor brands, clubs, restaurants, etc. She moved to New York and wrote a cocktail book, and decided to open a series of gourmet dessert martini bars. Her dream was to create a unique edible drinking vessel for the martini bars.
The idea of an edible sophisticated glass, that you could hold without touching the chocolate, and was durable enough to hold a liquid or dessert for several hours without melting became an obsession.
After various designs and test kitchens, she came up with the mess free, elegant chocolate glass, and BAR CANDY was born.
